CMYK is an uncompromising sound shift from bands previous vintage rock'n'roll style (guitar, bass, drums, singing) to the current new electronic and hip-hop elements, while preserving its originality with an irrelevant reference to the period when guitar music was dominant on the world music scene. The album also features psychedelic instrumental compositions and tastefully crafted themes from Slovak folk music, which adds an interesting conceptual dimension to the album, as you would watch, or even participate in a dreamlike crazy road-tripe full of unexpected experiences and surprises with a bold end. Despite the song variety and the relatively high number of songs, CMYK is holding firmly together. It gives the space to Tammy to stand out with her remarkable singing performance accompanied by sensitively built arrangements that will please also a very demanding listener.
The album enchants immediately, but the real experience comes after several times of focused listening. This album is not for everyone, and that's good. But for sure it will not miss a vinyl collection of music lovers who haven’t yet forgotten how much power music can have. CMYK is an album which moves authors own musical and composing boundaries, and that is the right way to attain originality and timelessness, which is mostly regarded by all artists.
